Barrie has 20 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s Insurance market having been introduced to it through a sandwich year in work as part of his Business Studies degree. He began his career in 2003 with Wellington Syndicate 2020 as an underwriting assistant in a market leading UK binder team. The team moved on block to Novae Syndicate 2007 whereby he became a fully-fledged underwriter, and the team branched out to writing worldwide binding authorities to supplement the U.K book. In 2014 Barrie made the move to Faraday syndicate 435 to start a U.K property binder account to support their existing U.K liability book.
In February 2022 Barrie joined JRP as a Property Underwriter writing U.K and Irish business and was re-united with some familiar faces.
Outside of work, Barrie enjoys spending time in his garden, travelling, and playing as many rounds of golf as he can fit in.

Danny is one of the founders of JRP Underwriting. Danny specialises in underwriting UK and Ireland Commercial Property risks and has just over 30 years underwriting experience, most of these gained in the Lloyd's and London market environment with J R Clare, Equity Red Star, Avon and NIG.
In addition to underwriting Commercial Property, Danny also has experience in writing motor, PA and liability risks. Professionally, Danny is Cert CII qualified and gained a distinction in his Lloyd's LIT test. In 2019 Danny was made a Freeman of the City of London.
Away from work, Danny is a keen Arsenal supporter and enjoys socialising over a good pint.

Jess joined in June 2020 and started her career in insurance in an aggregate modelling team in 2005. Then went on to work at Catlin in syndicate and company compliance in 2007. Jess then got the opportunity to join the Underwriting department there working in the UK open market and international binders team in 2009, then on to work at Amtrust writing UK and European binders and lineslips.
Outside of work Jess enjoys family life, running, reading, music and socialising with friends.

Calum joined in August 2024 and has a over 13 years in the insurance industry. Calum started his career at COBRA London Markets dealing with UK and Irish Wholesale property business before leaving in 2014. In 2014 Calum joined Gallagher as a senior broker placing UK property and Underwriting under a delegated authority with JRP Underwriting. Outside of work Calum plays guitar and sings in local establishments of his hometown of Leigh on Sea and cooking and showcasing lavish meals for his social media fans.

With over 13 years experience in the London Market, Sam joined the team in April 2024.
Sam began her career at Miles Smith Insurance Brokers as an administrator, handling various property binders, before going on to become a respected Property Underwriter at two of the leading composit Insurers; Aviva and Zurich.
Sam enjoys a challenge! None more so than looking after her 1 and 2 year olds. She has recently taken up clay pigeon shooting, and enjoys good wine & food.

Steve began his career in retail broking, and then into the Lloyd's Market in 2002 as a Lloyd's Broker.
In 2009, Steve went back into Underwriting as a Senior Underwriter for Woodbrook Underwriting Agencies writing, Liability & Property risks. In 2013 he left to join Amlin UK as a Senior Casualty Underwriter, writing SME Commercial UK & Irish business and managing various delegated binders and lineslips.
Steve joined JRP in May 2018 as a Senior Casualty Underwriter to write SME, Commercial UK & Irish Liability business.
Outside of work, Steve supports West Ham and also coaches rugby for the mini's age groups at Sidcup RFC. He also enjoys a golf day or two!

Andy started his career in Insurance over 10 years ago in 2010 with Towergate London Markets as a Property/Casualty Account Handler. Having completed his Cert CII in 2011, he moved into a Junior Broking Role before leaving to join Citynet in 2013.
Andy joined Citynet as an Account Handler looking after UK/Irish Renewals and New Business before progressing to become a Broker where he was placing UK and Irish SME business for both the Property and Liability team.
Andy joined JRP in September 2021 as a Casualty Underwriter to write SME, Commercial UK & Irish Liability business.
Outside of work, Andy supports Crystal Palace and has been a season ticket holder for 20+ years. He also enjoys a round of golf or watching the Darts with regular trips to the Alexandra Palace to watch the World Championships!

Having graduated from University toward the end of 2022 and successfully obtaining his economics degree, Cole joined JRP soon after in January 2023. Keen on pursing further educational qualifications, he is currently working toward completing his Chartered Insurance Exams.
Cole joined JRP as an assistant liability underwriter, becoming the 4th member of our growing casualty team. While providing aid to his colleagues on a day-to-day basis, Cole is primarily developing his underwriting skills, ultimately seeking to become an Underwriter in the near future.
On the weekends, he often attends Chelsea games of which he is an avid fan, playing himself for a Sunday league side. Having recently picked up golf, Cole now (somewhat) enjoys also developing his skills on the course!
